The 2017 « Maîtres du Chant » « Honneur » Competition Union Professionnelle des Maîtres du Chant Français

The « Honneur » competition of the “Maîtres du Chant” is open to women and men singers from all nationalities aged between 18 and 40 years old in 2017.
Applications can be submitted either online or by regular postal service :
– online : both the application form and the secure payment are to be submitted via the Weezevent portal :
the closing date to apply online : November 3rd 2017
– by regular postal service : send the PDF version of the application form together witha check of 42€ payable to U.P.M.C.F.
The closing date to apply by postal service : October 27th 2017 (date as postmarked) The closing dates are imperative. Make sure to clearly indicate your family name, first name, age, address, telephone number, email address, name of your voice teacher, name of your accompanist if you have one; otherwise indicate you will need the official accompanist for the competition. Also give the list of the pieces you will sing as well as their precise duration.
The organizational Committee will review the applications to preselect the candidates. An audio recording will have to be submitted. The Committee will reject the applications which they do not consider of a sufficient musical quality as well as incomplete applications. Those candidates who have not been selected will be notified at least one week before the competition is due to begin and the application fees will be refunded (within 30 days after the competition has been held) There will be no refund of the application fees for the selected candidates.
The pianists for the competition : A pianist/accompanist will be available for those candidates who asked for one in their application form. It is essential to contact the accompanist to let him/her know your programme ahead of time. You will be given the necessary indications to do so. Any additional rehearsal prior to the competition will have to be paid for. The pianists/accompanists will only accompany the candidates on condition the latter have sent them the scores as soon as they have been selected.
Candidates will receive official notifications by email.
The Jury will feel free to interrupt those candidates exceeding the 8 minute maximum duration for their programme. There can be no appeal of the decisions of the organizational committee.
